In the Geopark of Granada is located “The Glass House”, a place that transports us to distant galaxies and movie sets.
A distinctive element of contemporary architecture is the expressiveness of form and design. The buildings incorporate innovative and creative designs that are supposed to be observed and appreciated. The aesthetic sense is very important in the design of structures. There is also a wide range of material combinations to enhance contrast or uniformity. In the Crystal House, the main material is glass, uniting the perfect chemistry with the quaternary and groundbreaking landscape of its natural enclave.
A single building could be constructed using concrete, glass, aluminum screens, and a variety of other materials that may not be common in modern architectural buildings. The innovative character includes asymmetrical facades and crystalline facades that change color according to the orientation of the sun at different times of the day.
From the outside of the Glass House, every hour, every second, is the different light, shapes, visitors can discover the colors of the desert reflected in its crystalline facade discovering a world of magic and color.
“A BUILDING HAS TWO LIVES. THE ONE IMAGINED BY ITS CREATOR AND THE LIFE THAT IT HAS. AND THEY ARE NOT ALWAYS THE SAME.”
The phrases of Rem Koolhaas (1944-), a Dutch architect who flees from the standards of the Modern Movement, and his works are in line with the socio-political reality of the moment. One of its most emblematic buildings is the House da Música, in Porto, which broke with aesthetics and the environment, creating unique spaces in time.
This is The Glass House, two lives where light and landscape make, a different house every day of the year.
“THE HOUSE MUST BE THE CASE OF LIFE, THE MACHINE OF HAPPINESS”.
Come and discover the light of life!
